Kathy Brueske, born on February 8th, 1948 in Renton, Washington, passed on the 6th of May, 2021 at Maury County Regional Hospital. She was 73 years young. Her parents were Alfred and Agnes Brueske. Raised alongside her were her three brothers; Bill, Dave, and Doug Brueske.
Kathy, affectionately known by many simply as “Granny”, was the beloved mother of Laura Mae Swenson and the grandmother of Dale Swenson. To those who knew her, she was a kind, loving, and caring person. Always thoughtful and ready to help others in any way she was able. For Laura, she was her best friend, biggest cheerleader, protector, and confidant. For Dale, she was an inspiring and supportive grandmother taking the role of both a second parent and a granny, having enjoyed the fruits of each. She really helped Dale grow into the wonderful, caring, and exciting young man he is today.Together they were an unstoppable team.
Granny’s hobbies were just that simple; being a loving mom and granny. She was a shark behind the pool cue and always a team player ready for any adventure, ready for action at a moment’s notice. She was an excited spectator of any of Dale’s events, especially in watching Dale fly his airplane in the skies above, not even mentioning her time as Dale’s private chef.
There is one thing that we can say for certain... Heaven will shine a little brighter now. Dale will always have a passenger with her own set of wings to fly with him and Laura with, extending her light from heaven to guide us all through these dark times.
Granny is alive in all our hearts and minds, living forever in our memories!
She is missed and loved.
Rest in Peace Mom and Granny, we love you.
There will be a celebration of life at Decaturville Methodist Church on Sunday May 16th from 3 to 5 P.M . Come and enjoy some Bar-B-Q and share your memories of Kathy.
