Frances Evelyn Menzies

Frances Evelyn Menzies was born on April 11, 1956 to the parents of Odie and Mary Tharpe. She is the 7^th child of the family of eleven siblings. Entered into her life at the age of 17, was Willie L. Menzies, the love of her life. They got married on the 25^th May. They have been married for 51 years. Guess how they keep up with it? You got it – one child to this union, Karrie Lynn Menzies (Donnie) Hudson. They confessed their hope in Christ together in love, keeping all commandments and the Holy Vows.

Frances was a seamstress at H.I.S. in Bruceton, TN. She retired after 20 years.

Frances leaves her love to husband, Willie; daughter, Karrie (Donnie); grandchildren, Kera, Brooklyn, Savion, Dayanna; great grandchildren, Ki’ara, Kyreese, Ben, Ru, Abiyah, Zhy’Aisha; her last aunt, Estelle (Clarence) Foster Jennings of Paris, TN; sisters, Norma (David) Crittendon of Mayfield, Ky, Norene Beatty of Middlesboro, KY, Sherry (Ken) Mays of Blytheville, AR, Philicia Tharpe of Jackson, TN; brothers, Gabe (Opal) Tharpe of Greenfield, TN, Obie (Julie) Tharpe of Camden, TN; brother/sister-in-laws, Tony (Evelyn) Menzies of Jackson, TN, Rev. Larry Jamison, Daniel Menzies of Camden, TN; special daughters, Reba Tharpe of Mayfield, KY, Alicia Cooper of Clarksville, TN, Angie Wells, Michelle Teague of Camden, TN, Della Hayes of Milan, TN, Kevita Williamson of Jackson, TN; a very big host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts…..

Preceded in death by her parents, Mary & Odie Tharpe; brother, Fred Tharpe; sisters, Carolyn Jamison, Linda Menzies, Mary West of Middlesboro, KY, Lorraine and Harris Menzies, Dennis Menzies, James and Vernine Jennings of Holladay, TN, CG Jennings of Tacoma, WA; nieces, Ann Johnson, Tiffany Johnson and Erica Beaty.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 11:00-1:00 PM at Oakdale Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 1 PM at Oakdale Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Rose Turner officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship C.M.E. Cemetery in Holladay, TN.
