Barbara Lou Churchwell

Mrs. Barbara Lou Churchwell, age 74 of Big Sandy, TN went to her heavenly home on April 6, 2017 at Henry County Medical Center. She fought a long and courageous battle with cancer and emerged victorious. Mrs. Churchwell was born on August 7, 1942 in Detroit, MI to the late Carl Crosby and Hazel Stockard Crosby. She was also preceded in death by her infant granddaughters, Chelsea and Candace. Mrs. Churchwell was a member of The House of the Lord Church in Camden, TN. Mrs. Churchwell, along with her husband, were long time promoters of gospel music throughtout the area and was retired owners of the Camden Chronicle and Magic Valley News. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who always put God and her family first in her life. Survived by:Husband: John Churchwell of Big Sandy, TNSon: Dr. Don (Dr. Dawn) Churchwell of Camden, TN        Daughters: Betty (Randy) Hudson of Big Sandy, TN                 Christy (Roger) Brasher of Camden, TNGrandchildren: Brandy Hudson, Wesley (Katilyn) Hudson, Kristen (Logan) Early, Christopher (Elizabeth) Brasher, Logan Brasher, Callie BrasherGreat Grandchildren: Aubrey, Abbi KateFuneral Services will be held on Monday, April 10, 2017 at 2 pm at the Oakdale Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Don Churchwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Flatwoods Cemetery.  Visitation with the Churchwell family will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 2:30-8:00 pm and again on Monday, April 10, 2017 from 8:00-2:00 pm.
