Jerry Thornton
Owner/Non-Licensed Funeral Assistant Jerry has been an owner of Oakdale Funeral Home since it opened in 1993. He was born and raised in Benton County, Tennessee and has been involved in Home Medical Care for 25 years with his wife, Lynda. He and his wife, Lynda, are the proud parents of three children, and 2 grandchildren. They live in the southern end of Benton County, in the McIllwain Community, where they attend McIllwain Pentecostal Church. In their spare time they raise and show Quarter Horses.

Kenny Madrey
Owner/Non-Licensed Funeral Assistant Kenny has been an owner of Oakdale Funeral Home since 1993. He is a 1979 graduate of Camden High School and from Jackson State Community College in 1983 and has been a lifelong resident of Benton County. Kenny has been employed at the Bank of Camden as Senior Vice President for the past 24 years. He is a very active member of the Missionary Grove Baptist Church, where he acts as Sunday School Superintendent. Kenny is also a member of the Benton County Vocational School Advisory Board, and the Camden Rotary Club.

Chris Mayberry
Co-Owner/Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer
Chris is a graduate of Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham, AL where he received an associate’s degree in funeral service education. He also graduated from Union University in Jackson, TN with a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and business management. In addition to being a dually licensed funeral director and embalmer, Chris is a registered nurse and Emergency Medical Technician. A graduate of Tennessee State University in Nashville and University of Alabama at Birmingham, Chris is no stranger to the area, formerly serving as flight nurse and regional nurse manager for Air Evac Lifeteam.

Rev. Rick Cottrell
Licensed Funeral Director
Originally from Decatur County, he and his wife, Pam, of 28-years, have two daughters. He is the Pastor of the Linden Church of God and Christian author. He is currently the President of the Ministerial Alliance in Perry County, Board Member for the Perry County Chamber of Commerce, and an avid outdoorsman.

Robbie Lomax
Administrative Assistant, Non-Licensed Funeral Assistant
A life-long resident of Decatur County, Mrs. Robbie has served area residents in the funeral profession since 1999. She is a member of The Lord’s Missionary Baptist Church in Decaturville where she and her husband, Willie, both serve as Sunday school teachers.

Hershel D. "Junior" Gillenwater, Jr.
Non-Licensed Funeral Assistant
Junior is a 23-year resident of Parsons and the son of a former funeral director from Virginia. He has had a life-long passion for the funeral profession. He is married to Faye Gillenwater, who also works in our Decatur County location. He is of the Pentecostal Faith.

Willie Brewer
Non-Licensed Funeral Assistant
A native of Decatur County, Mr. Willie was born in the Mt. Carmel Community. He worked for many years in the food service industry working as a chef and educator of cooking. He currently serves Oakdale Funeral Home-Decatur County on a part-time basis as a non-licensed funeral assistant.

Faye Gillenwater
Non-Licensed Funeral Assistant
A life-long resident of Decatur County, she is a graduate of Riverside High School and has worked in Decatur County in food services for many years. She and her husband, Junior, of 22 years, both work as non-licensed staff in our Decatur County location and are proud to be able to assist in serving families during their time of need.
